Can Dual Hitch Adapter Be Used with Weight Distribution System
Question:
Can I use a dual hitch adapter to add a bike rack while pulling my travel trailer with a 4 point anti sway/weight distribution hitch?

Makers of weight distribution systems generally do not recommend using any sort of hitch adapter/extender with their systems. The reason is that such adapters/extenders like Malone # MPG544 and Curt # D-192 reduce your trailer hitch's tongue weight rating, and by a full 50-percent.
The loss of hitch TW capacity derives from the change to the overall geometry of the set-up; the whole WD head and shank will be further from the hitch and this applies extra leverage on the hitch tube, reducing its capacity.
A better option is to install a front-mount hitch like # 65052 (which fits the 1500 without Z71 package) or the Curt # C31012 (which fits all but the hybrid). You can then use the 2-inch hitch-mount bike rack of your preference, including the highest capacity 5-bike models.
