I contacted the manufacturer and they informed me that the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs, Item # AL57215, will probably work with your 1985 Ford F-150 and the Curt Gooseneck Hitch, Item # C60723. There could be issues when installing either and Air Lift recommended going to their website and reviewing the installation instructions for your vehicle to find out what you will need to do for proper installation.
For a compressor, I recommend the Air Lift Load Controller Compressor System, Item # AL25854.
If you find out that the Air Lift will not work for you, I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, Item # TFR150SDE. This rubber spring system replaces your existing bump stops on the bottom of the frame rail. It is compatible with gooseneck and fifth wheel hitches and supports up to 6,000-lbs.
I have attached some videos and the installation instructions for you to check out.
