Are Rear Trailer Hitch Receivers Rated for Straight Line Pull
Question:
I am looking for info on this hitch C15324 I could not find a line pull rating for it as I want to be able to run a winch from the receiver and the stock receiver on my 2006 Avalanche would not be up to the task if I have to do recovery of any kind. thanks

None of the rear mounted trailer hitch receivers are rated/tested for straight line pull. They are only tested/rated for gross trailer weight (GTW) and tongue weight (TW). However, I spoke to my contact at Curt who informed me that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15324 which is a confirmed fit for your 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche should be capable of handling up to 9,000 lbs straight line pull.
If you need a mounting plate for your winch to use on the back of the above trailer hitch, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Electric Winch Mount Plate part # C31010 with optional handles # C31005.
