Recommended Firestone Rear Axle Air Bag Kit for 2017 Ram 3500 Cab and Chassis and Pickup Truck
Question:
Hi, I am looking for Firestone Airbags. Can you please confirm that they will fit for my vehicle? 2017 Ram 3500. The Airbags I am looking at are Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle, Item # F2478. As I broke my Torque Wrench, could you recommend one for me too? Thank You.

The Firestone Ride-Rite rear-axle air bag kit # F2478 is the correct one for the 2017 Ram 3500 cab and chassis version, as used for an RV. If you have a Ram 3500 pickup truck then you will use a different kit.
For the 3500 pickup truck we have kit # F2616 for the 2WD and kit # F2615 for the 4WD. Both of these provide 5000-lbs of load support. We also have a heavier-duty 7500-lb-rated kit for the 4WD pickup, part # F2710.
You can get the most out of any air bag system by using a compressor kit that allows you to adjust bag pressure while you drive. Without a compressor, you need to stop to manually inflate the bags any time they need more pressure. I suggest the Firestone Air Command II Heavy Duty Dual Function Compressor # F2219 which allows independent pressure control for each air bag.
None of these kits will interfere with an in-bed gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch, but also none will work on vehicles that have the factory Air Suspension System.
I linked an install video showing a 3500 pickup so that you can see the whole process.
We do have several choices in a torque wrench, parts # ALL644044, # ALL944001 and # PTW3001C, and we also have a Digital Torque Adapter # PTM206 that converts any 1/2-inch ratchet to a torque ratchet.
