Recommended Complete Flat Towing System for 2014 CR-V TOAD
Question:
I have a 2014 CR-V that I want to setup as a TOAD. The Roadmaster EZ4 looks like a popular kit. What other components will I need that are compatible?

For your 2014 Honda CR-V, I recommend you start with the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521567-4. Then you will need a tow bar and I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520 along with the safety cables # RM-643.
Then for your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will utilize your factory wiring while protecting it. You will also need the fuse bypass # RM76512 for your vehicle.
You will also need a supplemental braking system. I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This is a proportional system that will apply your CR-V brakes at the same time and with the same intensity as you hit the brake pedal in your motorhome. This system is adjusted at installation and then becomes a plug and play system for you. You will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
Finally, you will need a high-low adapter. I've attached an article as well as linked the page to your options so you can take measurements for the correct fit.
