The 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler, # RP78FR, will reduce front to back movement, known as chucking by as much as 60 percent. It is also compatible with the Lippert 1621 and 1621HD pin boxes. The air cushion absorbs shock providing a smoother ride.
A washboard effect could be the result of some other issues as well. High hitching, with the king pin not all the way down in the 5th wheel jaws, could be an issue. You will also need to make sure the hitch is properly lubricated as specified in the instructions for your hitch.
If the king pin and/or hitch jaws are too worn, that could account for extra movement. It could also be the brakes malfunctioning. The trailer pin weight also may be too low. These are just some things to consider and take a look at on the trailer and hitch.
