How Much Does the ecoHitchTrailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7322 Weigh

Question:

Hey Jon G, thank you for the quick answer to my question! I am planning to use my new hitch receiver for a two bike rack. I am currently researching a mid priced Hollywood brand. I want one that is far enough away from my beautiful HR-V so it doesn’t get touched or scratched. I will also need an adapter for a womens style bike and am wondering about a way to lock the receiver and rack and bike to discourage theft. What do ya think!!!

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7322, which is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Honda HR-V, has a shipping weight of 33 lbs. Since this includes the packaging that means the trailer hitch itself weighs about 30 lbs.

I have attached a sample installation video for you to reference. If you can let me know what you will be using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations if necessary.

The most popular Hollywood Racks bike rack that we currently have to offer is the Trail Rider # HR200Z. This is a platform rack that secures the bikes via the ratcheting arms on the middle post. As you have noted, for some applications an Adapter Bar # HRBA-PRO may need to be used to secure a bike. This bike rack has a mast and arms that can fold for compact storage, includes an anti-rattle hitch bolt, and an adapter sleeve which allows it to fit both 1-1/4" and 2" trailer hitch receivers. It can carry up to two 45 lbs bikes with a max wheelbase of 60" and a max tire width of 3". For the price, this is a great middle-of-the-road bike rack option. If you are looking at the higher end of Hollywood Racks, which is still more cost-effective than most competitor's options, I recommend the TRS # HR3000. The TRS is a wheel mount option which means that instead of having the ratcheting arm that comes down over the bike frame, you have an arm that comes down on top of your tire/wheel. This is a great application that eliminates the need for the adapter bar as long as your bikes don't have fenders. This bike rack allows you to tilt the rack with the bikes on for rear hatch access plus you can fold it up when you don't have bikes loaded for more rear clearance. An anti-rattle hitch pin is included with this bike rack, plus it can carry up to two 50 lb bikes with a max wheelbase of 48" and a max tire width of 4.5". A cable lock and a lock that installs on the anti-rattle pin can be added to either bike rack with the part # HRLHPTC. For clearance at the back of your 2016 Honda HR-V, when we installed the Draw-Tite trailer hitch on one we found that from the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the rear bumper measured 4". The Trail Rider measures 12-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the closer wheel hoop. The TRS, on the other hand, measures 8-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the bike rack. You can add a few inches to that measurement to get where the tray sits since the 8-1/4" measurement is located at the pivot point on the bike rack. I have attached some review videos that you can reference to help you with your decision.
