Question:

Will the e98874 fit a stock 2015 Jeep Wrangler and clear the rear mounted spare tire when folded up?

Helpful Expert Reply:

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler has four sizes of factory tires (225/75-16, 245/75-16, 255/75-17 and 255/70-18) so to know if you have enough clearance for your rear-mounted spare when the 20x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 is folded up you will just want to take one measurement.

Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your receiver tube back to the rear edge of the spare tire. Whatever this distance, you will want to select a carrier that provides at least 1/2-inch more clearance. This will avoid the potential for the folded carrier to contact the rear edge of the spare tire.

The 20x60 etrailer # e98874 has a measurement of 9-1/2 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the carrier when folded up. If your hitch-to-tire measurement is at least 1/2-inch less than this the carrier will fit.

For a confirmed fit, I recommend the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # C18151. This carrier has a 7-3/4 inch measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier when folded up. I've attached a video of a fit on a Wrangler to assist.
