Recommended Transmission Fluid and Engine Oil Cooler for a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
Hello, I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with the V6 3.8L engine. Im looking for a transmission cooler for this vehicle and engine combination. When I do a search on your website, two Derale transmission coolers show up for my vehicle, the Derale D13503 and the D13502. The only difference I see between the two is the D13503 is 1.5 inches taller than the D13502. Is there any other difference? Which cooler is best for my vehicle? Is it going to hurt the vehicle if I go with the larger transmission cooler? Thank you.

The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler part # D13503 is 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep and the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler part # D13502 is 11" wide x 7-1/4" tall x 7/8" deep. As you mentioned the only difference between the two are their size. The larger cooler will provide more cooling power for your vehicle's transmission. Neither of them would cause any damage to the vehicle if installed correctly.
If you are looking for both a transmission fluid and engine oil cooler then I highly recommend the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler with Multiple Threads part # D15902. This kit uses the same cooler for both the transmission fluid and engine oil. The cooler measures 17" wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep. It comes with everything you will need for installation.
I have attached a sample install video on a similar vehicle for you as well.
