Trailer Dolly Options for Moving a 3,400 lb Fully Loaded Trailer

Question:

I have a 21 foot travel trailer and am learning how to maneuver it, but for now, Id like to cheat a little. Id like a way to unhitch, rotate, rehitch, and finish backing the trailer into the campsite. Also, my sloped driveway has a light pole on one side, and my house on the other, so I park at an angle, and bleed over across my property line. If there was a way to rotate the trailer after unhitching, I could park nice and straight up against the property line. The trailer weighs 3400# fully loaded, so I gues thats a tongue weight of about 350# max. Ive thought of getting a trailer jack wheel, or even a trailer dolly to accomplish this. Thoughts?

You can try using a trailer dolly like the Rack'Em # RA20 rated for 500 lbs Tongue Weight (TW) but 3,400 lbs is quite a lot to move by hand. I recommend using a Trailer Valet to assist you in moving the trailer which makes it much easier.

The 5X # STC-V211 mounts to the trailer frame and can support up to 500 lbs of TW. It allows you to use the hand crank or a power drill, using the bit # TVDA, to effortlessly move the trailer around.

A trailer's TW should be 10-15% of the loaded weight of the trailer. This puts your TW between 340 lbs - 510 lbs. If your TW is over 500 lbs or you don't want to leave the dolly connected to your trailer all of the time then I recommend using the XL # TVXL2 for a 2" hitch ball or the XL # TVXL25 for a 2-5/16" hitch ball. These have a TW of 1,000 lbs and come with the hand crank and the drill bit.
