Recommended Ball Mount With Rise for 2015 Odyssey with Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch
Question:
I purchased a used 2015 Odyssey with a draw tite 75270 hitch installed. I cannot determine the best ball mount for this hitch to make sure I have clearance at the bumper. My trailer is 14.5 inches to the bottom of the receiver when level. I know I need a ball mount with rise and and for it to be long enough to extend adequately beyond the bumper. What suggestions do you have? Thank you.

Just to make sure we are accurate on the actual rise you may need, lets cover some basics. With the tow vehicle parked on level ground, measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. Then, with the trailer level, measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. The difference between these hights will determine how much you will actually need.
I have a diagram attached to this article showing how this process is done. I also have a video linked showing hitch height is measured from the Draw-Tite hitch you have. I would encourage you to take this extra step, to make sure you will get an accurate product. Because with your trailer being 14.5 inches from the ground and the Draw-Tite hitch # 76025 being 13 inches from the ground, it would seem like you would need a product that has at least a 1 1/2inch rise. The best thing in this case is to re-measure to be as accurate as possible.
But if all the information I have is accurate, I recommend the Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount Kit w/ 2 Greaseless Balls # AM3461. This product has up to a 4" Drop or Rise and up to a 10,000 GTW. It also includes 2" and 2-5/16" steel hitch balls, and fits 2" trailer hitches.
