Kayak Rack Recommendations for a 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
How can I secure my kayak to my 2011 subaru outback. Surprised that Subaru doesn't seem to have an answer. With the factory rails crossed over the kayak leaves about one inch of rail exposed on each side...probably not enough room for foam blocks. Your help would be appreciated.

We have a couple of options for carrying kayaks on the roof of your 2011 Subaru Outback.
If you will be carrying one kayak on your Subaru Outback then Thule Top Deck Rooftop Kayak Carrier System, # TH881, is a good choice.
If you will need to carry 2 kayaks, the Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier, # TH830, is another great choice.
The total weight of the racks and load must not exceed the weight limit recommendation of the rack manufacturer or that of the vehicle manufacturer for the vehicle roof.
