Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Ram 3500 with B and W Turnoverball Hitch Installed
Question:
I’m wanting to use the Reese M5 fifth wheel hitch in a 2017 ram 3500 drw. No factory prep. I have a turn over ball mount for gooseneck. Is there way ? I would like to use a BandW ultimately but if I swap to a Ford in the future the BandW falls short of the Towing capacity needed. Using the Reese M5 I could swap trucks and still use.

Reese does not make an Elite rail kit for your 2017 Ram 3500 without the tow package. Since you already have the Turnoverball rail kit part # BWGNRK1314-5W installed you'd really want the Companion hitch part # BWRVK3500 which fits this directly and has a 20k capacity.
Best option for a future Ford truck that calls for a higher rated hitch would be to order the truck with the factory Ford rail kit and then use the M5 hitch part # RP30922 which has a 27,000 lb capacity.
