I am planning on getting a class 111 tow package installed, do I also need a transmission oil cooler?

A transmission cooler is a great idea for a vehicle that is going to be doing some towing like your 2017 Ford Explorer.

The most popular option we have is the Derale cooler part # D13503 which would work well in your vehicle. It measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. With a transmission cooler you want to go with the largest one that will fit the available space in front of the radiator.
