Does Check Valve of SMI DUO Braking Kit Have to Be Used to Install in 2018 GMC Canyon

Question:

I am installing the SMI DUO in a 2018 GMC Canyon with a Diesel engine . The motor already has a factory check valve between the motor and the brake booster per picture . My question is do I also need to install the SMI check valve and where should it be located if I do , I have ran the motor and the brakes are working normally but the SMI controller will not pull the brake pedal down , any ideas ? Thank you

You do have to install the check valve of the SMI DUO part # SM99251 to your 2018 GMC Canyon. What you sent in a picture of doesn't appear to be a check valve. It looks like it may be a tee valve or possibly a vacuum reduce so you would want to install the check valve of the DUO like the install instructions indicate as well as install video I attached that shows this installed on a similar Colorado as your Canyon.
