Wiring Harness to Use Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on 2000 Ram 2500 and 2006 Chevy Colorado
Question:
Hello, i have a 00 dodge ram 2500 and a 06 chevy colorado, i want to install a trailer brake controller in both trucks both has the 7 way connector, but is an aftermarket installation, just for the lights, not the brakes, in fact, i tried to find the plug and play connector in the dodge, but didn’t find it. Could you guide me about what product I need to perform a correct installation for trailer braking, in both vehicles and if i could use the same controller for both trucks, please. I would like to buy the tekonsha 90195. Thank you.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is a great controller that as you stated can be moved between your vehicles. You will simply want to buy an additional mount # TK5906 and the correct wiring harness for each vehicle.
For your 2000 Dodge Ram 2500, you will want harness # 3020-P. For your 2006 Chevy Colorado, the wiring pigtail that comes with the P3 will need to be spliced into the wires present under your dash. I've attached a video of this installation on a 2015 Colorado to assist, but you will need a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm function prior to splicing.
