7-Way and Brake Controller Connections for 2014 Nissan Xterra with Aftermarket 4-Way Wiring Harness
Question:
An expert here posted this in a reply If your 2012 Nissan Xterra came with a factory 4-Way trailer connector then it might not have all of the relays needed for a fully functional 7-Way. But if you installed an aftermarket harness such as # 118525 then the relays are all present and you would just need # 118267 for a fully functional 7-Way. I have the after market 4 pin harness. IF I buy and install PN 118267 how do I connect this to a brake controller?

On your 2012 Nissan Xterra, I reached out to my contact at Tekonsha and he said without the tow package you still will have the connection for a brake controller near your dash.
So, since you have the relays for your aftermarket 4-way, you can simply use the Replacement Wiring Harness for Tow Ready Nissan Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118267 as you stated and then use harness # 3050-P for all Tekonsha brake controller installations. I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195 because it is a great proportional controller with easy to use functionality. It has an LCD screen as well as preset boost settings for easy use. I've attached a video of the installation and a review video to assist.
