Would you be able to tell me who the manufacturer and the model number of your pin box is? I do not know if that is an issue or not but it may help to determine if there is an issue.

I spoke with a representative of Demco concerning your issue with Demco Hijacker # DM8550024 and he mentioned a few different potential reasons for your issue. Though you did say you tried a number of different trailer heights, the representative emphasiszed that the trailer needs to be low in order for the proper amount of pin weight to be on the hitch to allow full coupling. He said to make sure your wheels were chocked as well to stop your trailer from movement. The other point of emphsasis was about angle; the king pin being at an angle would be detrimental to getting the king pin to settle in the hitch. You need to be as precise as possible in order to couple properly and I was also told that a newer hitch such as yours may take some time to get to the point where coupling is an easier process.
