Best Trailer Hitch for Carrying the Yakima Dr. Tray with a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek
Question:
I have a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, and I am looking to get a hitch receiver that goes with platform bike carrier like my Yakima Dr Tray. I was doing a lot of research on your website comparing both Curt vs Draw Tite vs Eco Hitch. The Eco hitch is out of my consideration at the moment due to its proximity with the exhaust heat source that could make taking out the platform bike rack a pain. Regarding the Curt, I read that it is also recommended, the advantage is Curt is that it is quite hidden, and not as obvious as Draw Tite. However, I read that Curt required stabilizing strap for carrying bike racks. What would be your recommendation?

Both the Curt # C13135 and the Draw-Tite # 76084 trailer hitches are excellent options to use for carrying a bike rack with your 2017 Subaru Crosstrek.
Personally I like the Draw-Tite a little better because a safety strap is not required, but some people don't mind using the strap # 18050 so it really comes down to preference.
Both hitches will allow you to use your Dr. Tray to carry your bikes around.
I have attached installation videos for each trailer hitch for you to reference.
