Troubleshooting 2018 Ford F-150 Ecoboost 3.6L Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System
Question:
Is a separate brake light switch required to install Invisibrake in 2018 F150 Ecoboost 3.6 for th monitor light to properly work in Tow vehicle? I removed Invisibrake from 2015 Wrangler in which it worked fine and installed in the F150 and I have gotten the monitor to work a few times but seems to only work a few times then quits as do the towed vehicles lights with towed vehicles brake applied. Invisibrake installation instructions mention an optional switch if towed vehicle has auto shut down feature, but chart on brakemaster website advises not needed. Can you please confirm if the optional switch is required and if so pArt number and if etrailer carries? Thank you!

There is not a separate brake light switch required for your 2018 Ford F-150 and the Roadmaster InvisiBrake System # RM-8700. The only thing that you may not already have that you will need is the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 which keeps your truck's brake signal from overriding the turn signal sent by your RV. I have attached a video that shows this installation on a 2018 Ford F-150.
Let me know if this doesn't solve your issue and we can do some troubleshooting on your installation.
