A weight distribution system with sway control would help greatly with the sway you are experiencing when semi trucks pass.

For a trailer that weighs 6,000 lbs when loaded you'd most likely have a tongue weight range of 600 to 900 lbs. For that the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 would be great for this as it has a tongue weight range of between 600 and 1,200 lbs plus features only sway control to proactively try to prevent sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
