For a supplemental braking system to use with your 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, I highly recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This is an excellent, proportional system that will activate the brakes in your Jeep at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV. This is a one-time setup, as there is no need to remove the system when you're not towing the vehicle and you won't have to activate it again when it's time for another trip. It will automatically function when the Jeep is hitched back to the RV.

To go along with this system, you will also need to add the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751471. This is needed to ensure that the braking system is properly positioned and working effectively.

I have attached an installation video on the 2016 Cherokee that you can use for reference.

In addition to the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521446-5 and the Flexco-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 that you mentioned obtaining in your question, you will also need a tow bar, safety cables, and likely a high-low adapter.

For a compatible tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain # RM-522. This tow bar features a non-binding design that will allow you to release the Jeep at any time, even on unlevel ground. The extra-long telescoping arms will also allow for better maneuverability and easier towing. It has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. For safety cables, you can use the Roadmaster # RM-643.

Lastly, you will likely need a high-low adapter in order to keep the tow bar level. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection. I have also included installation instructions for the parts mentioned in this answer and a great FAQ on flat towing that you might find helpful.
