Does Disconnecting the Battery Erase Presets Stored in the Computer Memory, 2010 Chevy Equinox
Question:
when you disconnect the battery to install the wireing harness, does the car loose any computer settings?

In most cases, if the battery is disconnected long enough, some settings stored in the memory will be lost. Radio station presets, memory seat positions (if the vehicle is so equipped), will need to be reset. Some newer vehicles will retain this information for a little while even with the battery disconnected. But if it is disconnected long enough, you will need to reset those functions that were affected.
I have included a link to the installation instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you to view.
