A hygrometer is an instrument that measures moisture in the air, or humidity as we usually call it. The first one was actually invented by Leonardo DaVinci in the year 1480!

The hygrometer function included in a product such as the TempMinder Wireless Thermometer and Hygrometer # MRI-822MX (and the white version # MRI-822MXW) is useful because moisture in the air affects how we feel.

80 degrees is a comfortable temperature for many, but if you add high humidity that same temperature can feel warmer, even too warm for some. In the same way, a cold day when the air is dry can feel much less chilly than when there is a lot of moisture (dampness) in the air.
