I recommend looking at the Polar Ramp Door Hinge # PLR1902. This is a heavy duty steel hinge that features a plain finish for easier welding and also includes a grease fitting to allow for a longer life and smoother operation. This hinge does not have a specific weight rating, but 3 of the hinges on your ramp door will be more than enough to support the weight of your Ford 4000 Tractor.

The Ramp Door Hinge #PLR1902 does require welding of both portions. The tab gets welded as you stated to one side and the outside cylinders get welded to the opposite side. I've attached a couple pictures to assist.
