Availability of Reese Fifth Wheel Brackets for Installing Reese Rails in 2012 Chevy Silverado
Question:
can you buy just the pieces that bolt the hitch to the frame, ????? I bought a hitch [new] but it dont have the plate that bolts to the frame,, it has L brackets ,,, the man I bought it from said the L brackets bolted it to the frame on my chevy , but every thing I find about mounting it says I need or shows it mounting with the long plate bolted to the frame ,, I have a 2012 chevy Silverado 2500 8 ft. bed

For just the brackets of the Reese rail kit part # RP50066-58 the part number you need is # RP50066. As long as the rails you have now are Reese rails the # RP50066 can be used to attach them to your 2012 Chevy Silverado like in the install video I attached below.
For new hardware to connect the rails to the brackets you need the part # RP58504. Even if you have this hardware already it's considered one-time use so you'd have to replace it.
If you are unsure of the rail brand or you know they aren't Reese then best option is just to go with the # RP50066-58.
