Swagman Hitch Pin for a 2-1/2 Inch Receiver With Reducer and Bike Rack
Question:
I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD which has a 2 1/2inch receiver. I do have an adapter to reduce it to 2. My Swagman rack is 1 1/4 with the 2inch adapter. The problem Im having is that the screw is not long enough to protrude through so that I can attach the safety clip. It appears that the threads are not a standard English or Metric pitch so I cannot just buy a longer bolt. Do you folks have a solution for this?

We have a Swagman pin that's actually made for the oversized Toyota factory hitch receivers that should be a good fit for your needs as well. You're looking for a part with a longer span, or distance from bolt head to lock or safety pin.
The Swagman Locking Hitch Pin, part # S64029, has an internal span of 4-1/2 inches up to its lock and should be more than enough length to clear through your 2-1/2 receiver on your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD.
I recommend measuring the distance from the bottom of the bolt to the safety pin hole of your existing pin prior to ordering. If the distance is smaller than 4-1/2 inches, then you should be able to step up to this pin for better performance.
