Some kayak carriers have a finite weight capacity, such as the Yakima JayLow # Y04073 which can handle up to 80-lbs. Since you have a fairly heavy kayak I suggest using a lightweight foam block carrier to keep your total roof weight load within the car's rating.

As an example, the Malone # MPG152 features two 18-inch foam blocks and includes load straps and bow/stern tie-downs. If this is not wide enough for the Hobie you might consider using two of a similar smaller foam carrier, such as # MPG154, to transport the boat hull up. These foam carriers will fit on any roof rack bar shape.

I suggest you confirm the roof weight rating for your Ford Focus to ensure the substantial 127-lb load of your fully-rigged Hobie Oasis tandem kayak is within its capacity. Keep in mind that you also need to account for the weight of the aftermarket Thule roof rack (usually in the range of 10-lbs) and of the kayak carrier itself. All together these items need to be within the car's roof weight-carrying capacity. I reviewed an online manual but found no roof weight capacity indicated, so check your printed manual to be safe.
