Recommended Bike Rack Carrier for 2 e-Bikes on 2007 Toyota RAV4
Question:
What is the load rating for the spare ride bike carrier. I have two e bikes of nearly 23.5kg each....with batteries that weigh about 5kg combined? Would the Yakima spare ride be suitable? 2007 RAV4

I did the conversion from kg to lbs so we can reference rated capacities. For your ebikes weighing about 51 lbs each with batteries around 5.5 lbs each, the Yakima Spare Ride # Y02599 is not usable. This bike rack is only rated for bikes up to 35 lbs each. We don't currently have a spare tire mounted carrier compatible with a bike that heavy.
For your 2007 Toyota RAV4, I recommend you go with a hitch mounted bike rack as the other options won't handle the weight you need. If you don't have a trailer hitch receiver, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98864 and I've attached an installation video for you. Then I recommend the Thule T2 Classic Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting # TH83JV for 2 bikes or # TH69TX for 4 bikes. These both have a 50 pound per-bike capacity and hold up to 5-inch tires.
