For your 2014 Honda CR-V, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # 36520. This hitch is an easy installation, has a nice look and won't be too large so you'll have better ground clearance while still having the ability to tow and carry accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier. I've attached a video of this installation for you on the same model year you have to walk you through it. This hitch is rated for 3500 lbs and a tongue weight of 300 lbs, but you will want to check your owners manual for manufacturer limits as well.
If you will be towing with this hitch receiver or using a lighted accessory, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118561. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Honda CR-V's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels.
If you tow, you will also need a ball mount. I recommend # 36051 which comes with the pin and clip and also a hitch ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.
