Recommended Lock for Underslung Coupler on 2018 Jayco Trailer

I just bought a 2018 JAYCO 28RLS. The coupler is different from my 2015 and does not fit the coupler lock that I currently have. The flang is much wider. It is currently in storage so I am unable to get any measurements. Is there anything you can suggest that will work without me getting the measurements? Thanks

Your new 2018 Jayco trailer has a bottom mount or underslung coupler. For a lock that will work well, I recommend the Atwood AMPlock Underslung Coupler Lock # AT89006. This cast iron lock is designed specifically for underslung couplers and will help deter theft by blocking the ball socket and the surrounding flat lip. It features a rotating-disc-tumbler lock that provides maximum security with nearly a million possible key codes. It will fit flat-lipped couplers for 2-5/16 inch balls with a maximum width (including lip) of 4-5/8 inches and a maximum lip thickness of 2-1/2 inches. 2 notched keys are included.

For a more economical option, you might also consider the Tow Ready Trailer Coupler Lock # 3008. This will lock the coupler latch in place so it cannot open to allow a ball to fit inside. We have found that this style of lock works well with the underslung couplers.

Looks like you have a standard underslung thumb latch coupler like the part #CA-5335-B. The Master Lock coupler lock part #2847DAT would fit this and work well.

We have the Super Grip Chock XL Wheel Stabilizer for Tandem-Axle Trailers #UF21-001094 which can fit wheel spaces of up to 17 inches. For a pair you would then want the part #UF21-001095.
