The white socket of the Plunger and Socket Door Holder part # DH604 that you referenced attaches with a bolt that runs through the center of it.

I attached a picture that shows the hole down the center.

The overall length of the Polar Handle part #PLR6624-A is 27-15/16 inches. The diameter of the handle is 1 inch just like what you are wanting so this should work well for you.
