Brake Controller and 7-Way Wiring Installation in 2011 Nissan Frontier
Question:
Hi, I saw your video on how to do your T connector for pen set up however my question is I want to add a brake controller and a seven Blade to haul my trailer. Do I need all of that for the four plug type and a controller, and a seven blade or is there a total different set up? Thanks

Since you have no trailer wiring at all on your truck you can install a trailer brake controller and a 7-way vehicle socket on your 2011 Frontier by first using a basic 4-pole lighting kit # C56225. You'll then upgrade this to the 7-way type that can carry a trailer brake signal by adding kit # ETBC7 which contains all the parts needed other than the brake controller itself. A helpful install article is linked.
For a controller I suggest a proportional type that will slow the trailer at the same rate that your vehicle slows down. Our customers really like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 for its easy set-up and reliability. If you want the same basic performance with added user-friendly features consider the step-up model, the Prodigy P3 # 90195.
