Tire Chain Recommendation for 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with Tire Size 245/75-16 for Plowing Driveway
Question:
Dodge ram 1999 2500 pickup truck. Lt245 75 16 tires. I have a 1000 foot crushed stone driveway I plow in the winter. Certain sections drift with up to 2+ feet of snow. I have looked at your website. I did not realize the large number of different chains available. Chains would go on the tires in December and probably remain on until March/April in most cases. I have looked at about 9 different chain models that your website says specifically fit a ram pickup. The truck is occasionally driven on the streets in the bad weather but primarily used for just clearing our driveway. Any suggestions? The truck, other than for plowing, sits in our garage the entire winter.

Since you'll be using the chains for plowing a driveway with deep snow primarily I'd recommend a square link set of chains that are confirmed to fit your tire size 245/75-16 like the part # TC2221SCAM. These will install pretty easily and due to their larger link design they will provide you with great traction. This is the chain style that does the best for deep snow like what you described.
