For a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3710 or part # BWRVK3775 over the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C84FR. The reason for this is because the cam-action handle on the B&W Companion makes a world of difference when it comes to uncoupling the trailer on un-level ground.

In order to determine if a sliding fifth wheel hitch is needed, you will have to do some measuring as clearances change for each truck/trailer. In short, there are some short bed truck and trailer combos that can make full 90 degree turns without a slider and there are other that cannot. That said, newer trailers are built with this in mind and the new GM puck system sits a bit further back from the rear axle than the old so most can get away with a fixed hitch although you may be limited to 80 degree or so turns in some cases.

Yes, the installation process of the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3710 or part # BWRVK3775 is very easy. The process entails attaching the pivot arms to the base (four bolts per side), dropping the head onto the pivot arms, and then dropping the base into the pucks. The pucks may or may not be able to latch without further adjustment but worse case you need to play with the castle nut on each peg until the handle turns. That said, this is not required for every application and would only need to be done once if even required.
