Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2009 or 2010 Honda CR-V
Question:
After reviewing all the videos and reviews, I really like the Blue OX equipment. Can you recommend the needed parts. Thanks.

To flat tow your 2010 Honda CR-V you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and most likely a high-low adapter.
I recommend going with the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521559-4. This will work great with the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 which are both rated for 6,000 lbs.
For your vehicle tow bar wiring I highly recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. I really like this kit because once it is installed all you need to do is connect the coiled wire adapter to the 6-Way on the front of your CR-V and the 7-Way to the back of your motorhome and you're good to go. Another plus would be installing the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to the middle pin on the 6-Way connector. This will prevent your battery from draining since you have to leave the key in the accessory position and will keep you from having to pull your radio fuse when making long trips.
You will also need a Brake Light Relay # RM-88400 for your lights to work properly. If you have separate turn and stop signals a Converter # 118158 and 2 additional Diodes # RM-792 will be needed as well.
The supplemental braking system that I recommend is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This system is a permanent install that simply takes the flip of a switch to activate it for flat towing. The design of the system practically hides it when you are not flat towing.
Most flat towing setups require the use of a high-low adapter for level towing. I have attached a link to our selection of adapters as well as a link to a helpful article to help you choose the correct one.
Be sure to follow any specific instructions in your owner's manual for flat towing to keep from damaging your CR-V.
I have attached some sample installation videos for you to check out as well.

Thanks for the info but we bought a 2009 Honda CRV instead. Will the parts be different for this year?
