There are indeed a few trailer hitches available that are confirmed to fit your 2008 Pontiac Vibe. Since you do not have the GT model, I recommend going with the Curt Class II Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C12234. This Class II hitch is custom-fit for your vehicle and will use existing holes in the Vibe's frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and has a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. It features a sleek, round tube design and has a gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat that offers superior rust resistance.
I have attached the installation instructions for the hitch that you can take a look at.
Please note that Curt does require that all non-trailer loads, such as bike racks and cargo carriers, be supported with stabilizing straps like # 18050. I have included a short video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how they work.
If you do not already have a bike rack, I recommend looking at the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683. This is a very nice, platform-style carrier that features adjustable, padded hooks that will hold the bikes by their top tubes. The sliding cradles secure the bike wheels to the rack and can easily adjust using hand knobs. The rack itself can also tilt down, with the bikes still loaded, to allow for easy rear cargo access.
I have attached a video demonstration on this rack along with a link that will take you to our available selection of bike racks that are compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver.
