Recommended Proportional Trailer Brake Controller for Use with Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes

Question:

I have a Master Tow car dolly with electric brakes, I need a controller. I will be installing it on Mercedes Sprinter RV. What do you recommend? Thanks

The trailer brake controllers we most often recommend are the proportional type that slow the towed item (in your case the tow dolly with your 2011 Mini Countryman) at the same rate that the tow vehicle itself slows down. This proportional braking reduces the "tug of war" feeling between the dolly and the tow vehicle.

The two versions of our preferred Prodigy controller, the P2 # 90885 and the P3 # 90195, use the same internal technology but the P3 delivers this with additional user-friendly features including auto-leveling and storable brake settings you can call up at will. Either one works great with both electric drum brakes or even electric-over-hydraulic actuators.

In your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter the installation will be hardwired, using our install kit # ETBC7. If the Sprinter does not already have 4-pole wiring that too will be needed along with brake pedal switch # RM-751475.
