Lug Nut Torque Range for 1/2-Inch Wheel Studs and Steel Trailer Wheels
Question:
I am in the process of purchasing two 2 Kenda 4.80-8c wheel/tire combinations from you. I am planning to replace the existing lug nuts with non-capped, 60-degree coned, ss ones. For the 1/2inch lugs that are currently on the trailer, what would be the correct torque for the new lug nuts?

The correct lug nut torque for any given trailer wheel depends on a few things. You can refer to the linked diagram that provides a range of values depending on the factors like stud size and wheel material. For 1/2-inch studs with coned lug nuts for steel wheels the torque range is 90- to 120-ft-lbs.
