Demco Autoslider Movement When Performing a 55 Degree Turn
Question:
How much rear movement would I get from a Demco 18k auto slider at an approx. 55 deg turn. I have an 2014 Mobile Suite Fithwheel and pull with a 2015 F-250 with a 6 1/2 ft bed. I have a reese 16k manual slider and Im looking to go with a auto slider. The pullrite 2900 will be too tall at 19inch hitch height. There service department told me I would only be able to make an 60 - 70 deg turn with the orientation of my king pin. It sets back 27 1/4inch from the nose of the camper, camper width is approx. 101, the tapered sides of front nose taper back on the sides approx. 12. With my manual slider in the maneuver position I can turn 70 to 75 degs with no problem. Just a big hassle to slide hitch back.

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 18,000 lbs # DM8550034 has a travel of 14 inches front to back. It activates when your truck turns more than 10-15 degrees. The head for the king pin will be close to centered between your bed rails in the closest to the cab resting position so you can get that measurement. The exact degree turn with your truck would only be limited by your camper as the hitch head will allow a full 90 degrees at full extension.
I reached out to my contact at Demco and at 55 degree turn the slider would move 7.80 inches toward the rear of your truck bed.
