Cut Cargo Basket Won't Fit 9-1/4 Inch Crossbar Spread on a 2014 Chevy Equinox
Question:
We bought an open box Curt C18115 for our 2014 Equinox, it does not fit our roof rack.... Wish we had seen your website first! our cross bars are on 9.25 centers. Your site indicates they need to be at 15, 22 or 29. Any thoughts on how we can make this work? Perhaps different style mounts? If the mounts went around just one rung of the basket we could probably make it work. Many thanks.

If the roof rack on your 2014 Chevy Equinox is the factory roof rack then the crossbars can be moved so the spread is wider. There are 4 positions in which the factory roof rack on that vehicle can be locked. Check the owner's manual in section 4-3 for information on adjusting the roof rack crossbars.
If you have an aftermarket roof rack mounted on factory side rails those, too, can be adjusted. I believe it is just a matter of adjusting the bars because a 9-1/4 inch spread to me sounds like someone just placed them that way to reduce wind noise. After adjusting the bars the Curt cargo carrier # C18115 should be able to safely mount.
