Connecting Trailer with 5-Way to Vehicle with 4-Way Adapter

Question:

my camper trailer has 5 wires.white,green, yellow,brown and red. What do I need to make it work on my car that has 4 wires.

Your camper has the standard 4-way colors which are for the taillight circuits plus an additional circuit.

The white is ground, green is right turn/stop, yellow is left turn stop, and brown running lights.

Now the red circuit can be a few things but on a camper trailer typically the extra circuit is for charging a battery so you'd need the 5-way adapter part # 20036 installed on your vehicle wiring and would need to run the extra wire of this adapter to the positive post of the battery through a breaker like part # 9510. For wire we have the 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1.

Other possibility is for the wire to go to the reverse light circuit. Which if that is the case it would need to tap into the reverse light circuit of your vehicle.
