Question:
Hi could you please confirm the following for me : 1 the product No. for a complete hitch wiring harness for a 2014 Honda Pilot 4WD, 2 U-Haul uses a 4 way flat light connector for all trailers will the 7 Prong work with this or do I need an adapter? If so, could you confirm the Product number for the adapter? 3 Could you provide the product number for the brake controller that works with this wiring harness? 4 could you recommend a 2inch ball hitch with a 2" drop for me from your site? My Pilot has a hitch but not the ball. Thanks so much

If your 2014 Honda Pilot did not come with a factory towing package, then you have a couple options for installing a trailer connector to the rear of the vehicle.
If you are only looking to pull the U-Haul trailers mentioned in your question, which use a 4-Way connector, you will only need a 4-Way connector on your vehicle. Since the U-Haul trailer only has a 4-Way connector, this means it does not have electric brakes that need to be activated. If you will only be hauling this trailer, then there really is not a need to add a fully functional 7-Way connector along with a brake controller on your vehicle.
If you just need to install a 4-Way, then I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118558. This custom-fit harness will plug directly to the OEM ports behind the trim panel in the cargo area. The 4-Way connector will hook right up to the trailer to power its signal lights without the need for an adapter.
If you do want a 7-Way connector, then you will just need to add the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 after the above 4-Way is installed. This kit will include everything needed to install a fully-functional 7-Way from the existing 4-Way. The connector will have both a 7-Way and 4-Way flat so you would not need an adapter to hook up to the trailer. I have attached an article that details the installation steps for this kit that you might find helpful.
If you are needing a brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is an excellent proportional controller that will apply the brakes on the trailer at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Honda Pilot. It features an easy to read digital display and continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues.
Lastly, for a 2 inch ball mount that features a 2 inch drop, I recommend the Curt Ball Mount # C45010. This sturdy steel ball mount features either a 2 inch drop or a 3/4 inch rise. You will just need to add a hitch ball that the coupler on your trailer will accept. For a 2 inch ball, you can use # 63845 and for a 1-7/8 inch you can use # 19260 and a pin and clip # PC3.
I have included a couple video demonstrations on the products mentioned along with the installation details that you can also check out.
