Brake Flange Required to Mount Kodiak Disc Brake Kit K2R526DS

Question:

the model trailer model is tab 23-27 7900 dual torsion axles that I plan to use for mounting your k2r 526s brakes. The problem is that the mounts welded to the axle are not suitable and must be removed and replaced because of rust decay. I need to purchase that bracket with one that will that will match your caliber mounts and the axle. I tried to measure it with little success and guess it to be about 2.5 in. including the small lose of decayed Material, can you give me some help to get the right axle attaching plate?

Expert Reply:

For replacement brake mounting flanges to allow installation of the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R526DS you can use the matching 5-bolt flange part # 4-44-1. Welding on a new brake flange requires a specialized jig and excellent welding skills to ensure the flange is straight and concentric with the spindle. This is usually best left to a professional.
