Wiring Harness Recommendation for Installing Hayes Brake Controller in 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
Question:
I have a Hayes syncronizer trailer brake and a wiring harness that plugs directly into my truck. Its a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The wiring harnes has red/green wire, black, dark blue, and white/blue wires. The trailer brake has blue, white, black, and red wires. I cant seem to get the right wires with the right ones.

Easiest solution would be the brake controller install harness part # HA81798-HBC which is a confirmed fit for your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 and is designed for use with the Hayes Syncronizer # HA81725. This would plug in on your truck in place of the wiring harness you have found.
Aside from that we don't know the wire color functions of your truck so you'd have to test them individually with a tester like part # PTW2993.
