Converting Titan Model 60 Drum Brake Actuator for Use with Disc Brakes

Question:

Hi. I have a 2003 Magic Tilt tandem aluminum trailer with GSVR 3420 lb axles, 10inch drum brakes, Titan Model 60 coupler. My trailer is used in both salt and fresh water. Is it possible to convert the drum brakes to disc and use my current Titan Model 60 coupler? If so, are there any modifications required for the coupler? Recommendations? Thanks in advance

To convert your existing Titan Model 60 Actuator for use with disc brakes, you can simply replace the master cylinder with the Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly for Titan Model 60 - Disc # T4820000. The drum brake master cylinders have a check valve on the inside to limit the psi. Disc brake master cylinders do not have this check valve because disc brakes will require more pressure. After replacing the master cylinder, you will be able to use your current actuator with disc brakes.

I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of disc brakes. In order to choose a compatible assembly, you will need to pull your hubs and check for the inner and outer bearing numbers. I have also included an article on adding disc brakes that will further explain this process and everything that will be needed.

Can't you just simply remove the check valve?
