Bouncy Ride from the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System on a 2012 Ford F-250

Question:

2012 Ford F 250 added Timbren TRF250SDG but empty the stops bottom out with a small bump in the road and truck rides like a bucking bull with an empty gooseneck. So my question is can the brackets that the rubber stops bolt to be removed and bolt the rubber stops directly to frame without metal bracket to open gap between stops and bump stop, similar to the factory design.

I spoke to my contact at Timbren about the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFR250SDG for your 2012 Ford F-250 and they informed me that the upper metal bracket cannot be removed. Therefore, the bump stop cannot be directly attached to the frame without this bracket.

I have two options for you. You can use a shorter bump stop that will reduce the occurrence of the bump stops engaging. For this you would want to use the Replacement Rubber Spring for Timbren Rear Susp Enhance System part # A550-65. This spring will be 3/4" shorter than the ones you currently have installed.

You could also install a set of airbags like the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs part # F2703. A set of airbags will give you both increased support and improved ride quality. In order to operate the airbags inside the truck I recommend using the Firestone Air Command I part # F2097.

If you choose not to use the airbags then the next best option we have for you is the RoadActive Suspension system. For this you would want to use part # RAS3611-SHD. As long as you do not have a factory overload spring then these will work well for you but if you do have a factory overload spring then part # RAS3611-SLHD is the one you will want to use.

I have attached a review video of the RAS and airbag kit for you as well.
