Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2009 Subaru Outback
Question:
Will this fit my 2009 Subaru Outback? Dual Pipes. Why does it say fit not confirmed??

It says "Fit Not Confirmed" on the page for trailer hitch # 75852 because that hitch fits a 2014 to 2017 Ford Transit Connect van. For a Class III trailer hitch that will fit your 2009 Subaru Outback you can use # 75560. Please note the hitch will not fit Sport models of the 2009 Outback. If you have a Sport model then there are no trailer hitches that will fit if it has dual exhaust. But if it is any other model other than a Sport then hitch # 75560 will fit with or without dual exhaust.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And for trailer wiring you can use # 118461 to add a 4-Way flat trailer connector to the rear of the vehicle. I have linked videos below showing example installations of both the hitch and the wiring.
