Sleeve for Weight Distribution System When Going From 2 to 2-1/2 Hitch Receiver

Question:

Purchased a 2012 GMC sierra HD 2500 crew cab w/ 6.5 Bed. It came with factory 2-1/2 Hitch opening. My Reese equalizer hitch is 2 inch. Looked for a sleeve locally and found a Reese sleeve but it says do not used with equalizer type hitch. Will your Curt sleeves work correctly or do I need a complete new hitch.?! Would rather find easier solution. But must be safe. Thank you.

There is a sleeve that will work with a Reese weight distribution system, the Curt Reducer Sleeve 2-1/2" to 2" # C45405. I've attached a couple review videos of this product for you to take a look at as well.
