The Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater - Cartridge Style - 120V - 400 Watts # KH11813 is a confirmed fit for your 2008 Scion tC.

To install:
1) Locate cartridge hole on the engine block.
2) Clean cartridge hole of all debris. Use compressed air.
3) Attach cord to heater.
4) Install heater into the hole. Rotate the clip on the cord to the proper position to secure the heater and cord to the engine block and heater.
5) Route the cord through the grill, using cable ties to prevent the cord from getting in contact with any hot or moving parts.

The cartridge hole location will be the rear left. See attached photo for help.

Unfortunately we don't have photos of the actual cartridge hole on your vehicle but I've attached a photo to give you an idea of what to look for. The attached video will help a little as you follow the directions for installation. Check the listing for the correct core hole location. Clean dirt and debris from cartridge heater hole (compressed air works best). Coat core hole and cartridge heater body (do not coat terminals) with NSCG silicone grease G-624. This will create good temperature transfer and prevent moisture from entering the core hole. Slide cartridge heater into position until fully seated. Route cord through grille and secure.
